How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes
Cleaning your makeup brushes is one of the most important things you can do. Makeup will build up on the bristles making them feel rough on your skin. Also, bacteria (which can cause breakouts) can build up in your brushes.
If you’re like me and can’t bring yourself to buy actual brush cleaner, try this.
Mix 2 parts warm water with 1 part white vinegar and swish your brushes in the mixture for at least 30 seconds. Rinse them out with water and set them to dry.
The vinegar will get rid of any bacteria you may have on your brush. Don’t worry, your brushes won’t smell like vinegar.
If you have a lot of makeup built up on/in your brush you can also use face wash or a gentle shampoo to help get the extra makeup out. Then follow by using the vinegar mixture to disinfect.
Ewww. Look what was left after I cleaned mine today! You should try to clean your brushes once a month.
Thanks to Natural and Thifty for the idea!
Until next week,
Samantha
